Who is the BlindShell Classic 2 for?
BlindShell Classic 2 is a phone with advanced features that is easy to use for the blind and visually impaired thanks to tactile buttons, voice control and a very loud speakerphone. It offers access to apps like WhatsApp, internet browser and assistive tools, making everyday life easier.

Can I control the phone using my voice?
BlindShell can be controlled by voice using simple commands. Voice control works online and for the most frequent languages also offline. Nevertheless, you can still use the keypad.

How do I turn on BlindShell Classic 2?
Press and hold the back button to switch on the phone, which will play the start-up melody and start talking when it's ready. The back button is the red slash-shaped button located to the right in the second row of buttons.

Will there be a SIM card in the phone?
No, we only supply phones as a device. You get a SIM card based on your own operator preference and the monthly plan you choose.

Can I read emails on my phone?
The BlindShell Classic 2 is a simple smartphone that offers many internet features, and among them is email.

How do I set up my email?
To log in to your email account, enter your email address, SMTP server address, IMAP server address, password, and select Save. For more information on some domains, see the Tips/Tricks section here.

Can I listen to music on my phone?
The BlindShell Classic 2 has a built-in music player as well as the ability to listen to FM radio and internet radio. You can also play videos or audio recordings on the YouTube app.

Is the battery replaceable?
Yes, you can simply remove and replace the battery. You can buy it in our e-shop in the accessories section.

Can I import contacts from a file?
Yes, you can import contacts from a .vcf file stored on the SD card or in the phone's internal memory. The contacts should be in .vcf (vCard) format with the name Contacts.vcf.

Who is BlindShell Classic LITE for?
This phone model is intended for all visually impaired and blind people who use the basic functions of a mobile phone and do not need an internet connection. It is intended for older or more modest users.

Can the phone be controlled by voice?
The voice control function is not available, because BlindShell Classic LITE has no internet connection.

What are the differences between BlindShell Classic LITE and Classic 2?
The LITE model is the simplest mobile phone for the blind. It includes all the basic features that work offline and does not require an internet connection. On the other hand, BlindShell Classic 2 is designed for more advanced users, offering specially designed hardware, internet connectivity, voice control and many features that are useful for everyday use.

Will there be a SIM card in the phone?
No, we only supply phones as equipment. You get a SIM card based on your own operator preference and the monthly plan you choose.

Classic micro USB, which you can buy from us or in an electronics store.

How do I find out who's calling me?
Press any number button during an incoming call to announce the caller ID.

What are the functions of the long press buttons?
A long press of the down button reads the text you have entered.
A long press of the down button additionally spells out the entered text.

How do I lock or unlock my phone?
Long press the star button (bottom left corner) to lock your phone. Long press again to unlock. You can also turn on auto-lock in the phone menu.

How can I change the sound profile?
Long press the hash button (bottom right corner) to open the sound profile settings menu, where you can switch between silent, vibration and normal modes.

How do I switch the sound from the earpiece to the speaker?
By pressing the confirmation button, you can switch the output sound from the handset to the speaker, allowing you to use the speakerphone.

Can I change the color scheme?
Yes, you can find the color scheme in settings, display, color scheme. There are four options to choose from (white text on black background, black text on white background, white text on blue background and black text on yellow background).

Is the text on the display too small for you?
You can select a large text size in the settings to make it easier for users with low vision to read due to the larger font.
